It is challenging to keep people engaged during home-based remote learning and working. In a set of recent surveys, instructors and students in the United Stated identify critical behaviors that are especially harmful to one’s remote learning experience: A. Classmates arrive late at online classes or discussions (without proper excuses); B. Classmates share their accounts with uninvited people and zoombomb the class; C. Classmates multitask (e.g., reply to personal emails, watch YouTube videos) while sitting at team-based discussion sections or meetings.
In this assignment, you will be asked to select one critical behavior from the above options, then write up a performance management plan that describes how you are going to improve people’s online learning experience from the perspective of management. Please make sure to include the following information in your performance management plan:
– Select one critical behavior that you would like to discuss in this performance management plan. * Note: There is no need to re-assess whether behavior A, B, and C are critical ones. In this assignment, we assume that all of them are critical behaviors, and we do want people who have those problems to change their behaviors.
– Propose at least two different interventions that can effectively prevent the selected behavior from happening in the future. Be specific about how each intervention is supposed to work. Explain why they are effective ways to change people’s behaviors. (4pt)
– Describe how you can evaluate people’s behavior changes after receiving the interventions. Be specific about the exact measures you will be using. (4pt)
– Use your own words to explain what a neutralizer is. In the context of remote learning, name at least one thing that may serve as a neutralizer for your proposed interventions. (2pt)
