Complete proposal

(MY MAJOR FIELD OF STUDY IS NURSING)

Instructions:

Write me a professional email of 1000+ words. For this assignment, I am your boss. Convince me your claim on your topic is worth our time and effort to continue exploring. Please follow professional email standards. Do not follow the content of link provided for professional email standards, just the formatting of the email. The content of the email should be derived from the four areas detailed below. Please type the email in a document and submit to the assignment’s tab. Do not send your proposal as an actual email.

Four areas are required:
Identify a problem
Spend time unpacking the context of the issue.
Explain the research that you have conducted.
Discuss the types of sources that will be relevant to supporting your claim. Are they speaking to each other? How?
Formulate a claim
This should probably begin with I argue that… and include some ideas of what you’ve discovered so far in your research. A rough thesis. Where are you headed? If I were your boss, I would want to know that you had considered and are aware of multiple aspects of your issue but that our time and resources should be purposely focused. Tell me what you are focusing on with your argument.
Consider alternative ways to achieve the desired outcome and discuss why these may not be feasible.
Look at the variety of perspectives that should be taken into account for your topic. Include the individual or subgroup, and then justify why that perspective could be important to understanding your idea more comprehensively. Or, why is this group’s perspective not feasible? For example, with school uniforms, there are a number of groups affected: students, teachers, local businesses, and parents, just to name a few. You would explore how this topic affects them and their perspectives. You will want to include what sources you have found that they would use to justify their perspective. The hope here is to show how you would address opposition or different perspectives.

Example Proposal:

Dear Mr. Hackney:

Our health is a very important part of our life. At times, humans become sick, receive injuries, receive fatal diseases, or obtain other physiological, mental, and physical problems. With this in mind, medicine and doctors help everyone become better in health. However, in this world, not every human has good ethics or functions to improve the world and help one another. For this reason, not everyone can or should be trusted. People are still indecisive of whether or not to trust doctors, pharmacist, and nurses. With all the requirements, regulations, and years of schooling these health professionals have to go through, most people rely on them to help their health while others are scared of them.

After conducting research for a few weeks, I have come upon a bit of reliable and resourceful sources that support my argument and help rebuttal counter-arguments. I first used some of the databases provided by JJC and MCHS. I used the databases to discover some regulations imposed by the FDA and what the FDA actually does in our society. For example, credoreference had an article on the functions of the FDA. I can use this information to explain to the reader what the FDA is to establish my ethos and provide information necessary to improve the reader’s knowledge. In addition, sources from governmental and college websites allow me to get direct information to use to support my argument.

Moreover, I argue that health professionals and medicine one takes when he or she becomes ill can be trusted because the Food and Drug Administration regulates all medicine and implies regulations in the medical field and there are certain requirements and training one needs to go through to become a health professional in the United States. In addition, health professionals learn through their years of training how to respect the patient and do their best ability to help the patient. Nevertheless, my argument does not take much of a path of the technology that health professionals use to treat patients. Doctors, pharmacists, and other medical people use the best technology that there is. Technology has advanced throughout the years; the technology used has little to no risk on the person. Furthermore, there are many ways to bypass regulations and requirements imposed by the FDA or colleges. This problem is not part of my argument because this now rarely occurs and stronger regulations continue to be imposed on future health professionals.

Furthermore, some US citizens do not believe that health professionals should be trusted. Some argue that medicine, in general, should not be trusted and that people should turn back to older methods, such as using herbs, natural recovery, and natural medicine. These people argue that people have survived since the creation of man using natural medicine and treatment and have lived close to as long as people do today. Although these alternative medications do help, natural medication and treatment sometimes are not effective for certain diseases and illnesses treated by modern medication, vaccines, or advanced treatment. In addition, the health of oneself has a bigger impact on society and the people around him or her. Medicine helps people to survive and live longer. This means that people have more time to do what they want and help the world for a better future. As one grows old, he or she will be able to see their kids and/or grandkids grow up. Even now, medicine helps one bypass death at a younger age. Also, medicine and pharmacy help stimulate the economy. Almost everyone is impacted by the medical field in some way every single day. Additionally, health professionals still today take the Hippocratic Oath, as said in “Hippocratic Oath” in The Classic Tradition, in which they take an oath to always help the patient to the best of their ability and be respectful to every patient regardless of their race, ethnicity, background, gender, or religion. With this in mind, medicine is inevitable this day in age and everyone should grow trusting of it.
