Week 2 Discussion
Identify the four types of tissue in the body and briefly describe their roles. Also, please research ankylosing spondylitis. List the known causes, symptoms, risk factors, and complications, and diagnostic testing. List any known treatments that exist for ankylosing spondylitis as well. What are the prevalent factors if any (genetics, age, etc.) that place people at risk of the disease? Please refer to the handouts I have provided in the “syllabus and resources” section of the course page in Blackboard for valuable information on guidelines for creating your discussion posts using APA format.
Write in simple, effective, and straight forward Standard English. Avoid slang.
• Write directly in response to the questions asked.
• Discussion posts must be submitted with 2 or more citations in APA 6th edition
format with in text citations in APA format.
• Make sure correct grammar, sentence mechanics, spelling, and punctuations are
correctly used. Simple sentences or simple phrases will not be acceptable for
posts.
• Do not copy and paste from resources but generate your own words and
opinions. Utilize scientific studies or academic studies to substantiate your
opinion. Do not forget to utilize “in-text” citations for references used (APA 6th
edition format).
• Refer to comments by previous students when applicable, and do not simply
repeat what someone else has already written. The later you post, the harder it
will be for you to write something original. Make sure you post in a timely
manner.
• Do not demean, exhibit rudeness, bully, or condescending. The Discussion Post
is a manner by which ideas or opinions are discussed. Have a positive and
meaningful dialogue with supported scholarly documentation of fact to support
your view.
• Discussion Posts are to consist of 100-200 words (1 or more paragraphs).
• To post your discussion post, make sure it is completed in a word processing
program. Upon completion, copy the text and directly post the response into
the thread. Uploaded Discussion Responses will not be graded.
